Cost: I lusted after a designer marble cutting board from Myer for months, but couldn’t quite bear to part with $120 for it. Instead, I picked this old marble top coffee table for $15 – bargain!

Get It: I’ve seen heaps of these around, keep your eyes peeled at op-shops…
Ever since I can remember, mum has prepared delishiousness meals on a solid, circular marble cutting-board. When she revealed the expensive looking slab of marble was actually pilfered off an old family coffee table, I diligently scoured op-shops, markets and second hand furniture warehouses and kept a keen eye. A a few weeks later, the universe aligned and I found one for the bargain price of $15! I love it when that happens….
The base of the table didn’t go to waste either, I blu-tacked a candle holder on top, and voila! A completely useless, but very pretty and unique dust gatherer.
